From Sunrise Elementary to Pacific Ballroom Dance - EHS Senior: Megan Henderson’s Full-Circle Journey |
Eight years ago, Megan Henderson was a fifth grader at Sunrise Elementary School participating in the school’s Dancing Classrooms program. After being selected to compete in Colors of the Rainbow alongside her classmates, Megan discovered a passion that would shape the next eight years of her life.
That experience sparked Megan’s journey into competitive ballroom dancing, leading her to become a dedicated member of Pacific Ballroom Dance, where she has spent years developing her skills and competing at a high level.
Now a Senior doing Running Start, Megan recently returned to her former elementary school in a full-circle moment, this time as a dance professional participating in the Dancing Classrooms buddy visit. She had the opportunity to demonstrate ballroom dances for the current fifth graders and inspire them as they begin their own ballroom dance journeys.
What began as a fifth-grade introduction to ballroom dance has grown into an eight-year passion, bringing Megan back to the very classroom where it all started. Her story is a wonderful example of how a school experience can spark a lifelong passion and how students can one day return to inspire the next generation.

| Each classroom will celebrate Halloween in their own way, so please check with your child's teacher for details. We do have some specific protocol for everyone though when it comes to costumes. If your child chooses to wear a costume, please remember:
- No masks that cover the face - No weapons or items that look like weapons - No gore, fake blood, or other scarey elements We're looking forward to a fun and festive day for everyone! |

As we're getting into flu & cold season, there are a couple of important health items to keep in mind to help keep everyone as healthy as possible. If your child has a fever of 100 or more, has diarrhea, or is throwing up, here are the guidelines for when they can return to school: - Fever: they must be fever-free without the use of medication for a full 24 hours before returning to school.
- Diarrhea: they must be free of diarrhea for a full 24 hours before returning to school. - Throwing up: they must be vomit-free for a full 24 hours before returning to school.
Please also keep in mind that we are not able to give your child medication at school without a prescription from a doctor. If you have any specific health questions, please feel free to contact Nurse Caren at 360.802.7430 or caren_noehl@enumclaw.wednet.edu.
We also invite you to peruse our district's student handbook for further information, both regarding health protocol as well as other district information: Elementary Student Handbook |
