Westwood Families and Community,
Happy Super Bowl weekend! We are excited for the Hawks and we are also excited for where we are at as a school community! We have recently marked the halfway point in the year...halftime. Halftimes are the perfect opportunity to assess and make adjustments for the second part of the year.
In terms of halftime adjustments, I wanted to share that we are going to adjust the schedule of our Westwood Updates. You will receive one formal update (like this) per month. This communication will include the menu and major information that pertains to that month. Then, on a weekly basis, you will get mini-updates relevant to current events, much shorter and easier to read. We hope this shift makes reading school news easier and more useful for you. We are ready for an amazing second half of this year. It goes by fast. Thank you for being engaged and for partnering with us in your child's education. We have important work to do and our amazing students deserve the best.
Lastly, I am sure you have heard how busy we have been. We have had four assemblies in two weeks, kicked off a kindness campaign for the month of February, food drive, 100th day of school, EHS field trip, found the third clue in the Treasure Hunt and much more. We also have a very important Levy vote coming up. These two levies are very significant and I want to encourage our community to vote.
Thank you Westwood. Have a great weekend! Go Hawks. Sincerely, Scott Meyer, Principal P.S. - We hope you can join us for our school dance on February 12 at 5:30 PM, hosted by our PTO and D.J.'d by Westwood parent, DJ Warlord. |
Please Welcome - Mr. Mike Davis, Head Custodian |

|
We are excited to introduce and welcome Mike Davis to Westwood as our head custodian. Mike has been with us since the retirement of Mr. Jaime. In that time, Mike has built relationships with students and staff, and also done an amazing job maintaining and preparing our building for learning. Mike has six years of custodial experience in schools in the Sumner-Bonney Lake SD and has experience in the Enumclaw SD. Mike is excited to join us and build upon what he has already started. Please join us in welcoming Mr. Mike to Westwood. He is a very friendly guy so please feel free to reach out and connect with him if you need anything.
