8th Graders

9th Grade~ EHS Registration Timeline
Enumclaw High School counselors visit to go over registration materials
*  Thursday, March 5th~
8th grade students visit the High School
(permission slips were sent home with students on February 23rd, and were due on the 25th.) The purpose for the visit is to Introduce 8th graders to the EHS setting, and learn about the Elective courses offered to begin considering learning pathways.
Students will eat their lunch at TMMS, then board busses and head to the High School. They will experience a pep assembly, meet the EHS leadership students and tour the campus. They will board the buses back to school at 1:45.  Watch for fieldtrip slips to come home. 
EMS/TMMS Academic Planning Night for students & parents 6:30 - 8:00 PM at EHS.
Students will get a presentation from the admin team and counseling team about registering for classes and other important info. Following the presentation there will be an electives, clubs, sports fair for families to see what EHS has to offer.
This information will assist you in helping your child register for their first year of high school.

Course Selection~ EHS counselors will be at TMMS to go over information.

Session 2 of the Cooking Club will start up on April 22! The club is open to all grade levels. Learn simple recipes and build confidence in the kitchen. Whether you are a budding chef or just like to eat, the cooking club welcomes all levels of skill.

Gold Activity cards are in the Events Board, purchase an ASB and turn into Mrs. Schipper in the office.

Does your student love to read? If so, they can join Ms. O’Neil and Ms. Chris’ newly formed D.E.A.R club - Drop Everything And READ! Once a month they'll be meeting after school for a half hour activity followed by an hour of reading.
If students would like to join and haven't yet, it's not too late. Students can join any time of the year by filling out a gold activity sheet and turn it into Ms. Schipper.
The next meeting will be Thursday, March 19th, 2:40pm-4pm.

Join us Monday, March 2nd @ 6pm at TMMS to “Pack the Gym” and support our Enumclaw Specialized Recreation athletes!
Students involved in our TMMS Leadership Program will play basketball with the Enumclaw Special Olympics Junior team. It is a great time of celebration featuring an exciting game. Athletic Registration for 4th Season Sport opened February 25th!
Wednesday, March 18th will be the first day of practice for football.
Monday, March 23rd will be the first day of practice for Cross Country and Volleyball.
All forms can be found on our Thunder Mountain website under the Enumclaw School District website. Click menu, scroll down to Athletics, click Athletic Registration and follow the steps from there.

Attention: if you qualify for the free or reduced lunch program, you need to complete the lunch application & Consent to Share Form (every year) by printing and returning the form to Child Nutrition Services (available on district website under district departments Nutrition Services Free Reduced Program). If you are eligible do not pay the fees for the ASB card or the Athletic Fee while registering for sports as these will not be refunded once processed.
Check back a couple of days after you have submitted the forms, if you see pending for any of them please call Trudi Schipper at 360-802-7494 and ask for assistance.

Bus Notes

Bus notes: a signed parent note is required for your student
anytime they are riding a different bus home. Please make sure the note includes the following:
1. Your student’s name/Address of where they will be going to
2. Bus number they will be riding/Parent signature
The student brings the note into the office before school to have it stamped and initialed and then gives it to the bus driver when they board the bus. Some buses are at capacity. Office staff will confirm with transportation that there is room. If the bus is full, the bus note will not be approved.
Please be advised that bus notes will not be taken over the phone.

Thanksgiving Food Drive

This spring, we’re excited to offer Guiding Good Choices, a FREE workshop for parents and caregivers of youth ages 9–14.

When: Tuesdays, April 21, 28, May 5, 12, 19, 26
Time: 6:30–8:30 PM
Where: Online

Led by a licensed coach, this 5-session workshop helps caregivers: 

*  Strengthen family relationships and reduce conflict 
*  Help kids build resistance skills, especially around substances 
*  Set clear family rules to keep kids safe and making positive choices
