Dear Sunrise Families,
Welcome to the 2025–26 school year! I hope your summer was filled with fun, rest, and time to recharge. As we step into a new school year, I am thrilled to introduce myself as the new Principal of Sunrise Elementary.
My background includes experience as both a classroom teacher, an interventionist, and an assistant principal. These roles have provided me with a strong foundation in building systems that support student learning, empower teachers, and engage families and the community. I am also a wife and parent of two amazing kids—a fifth grader and a first grader—which keeps me deeply connected to the joys and challenges of elementary school life. My philosophy as an educator is simple: I want for every child the same education and support that I would want for my own children.
I feel grateful to be joining a school and community that already has so much to celebrate. Sunrise has a strong tradition of excellence, and I look forward to continuing the great things happening here while also finding ways to grow together.
Please know that my door is always open. I welcome your questions, ideas, and conversations. Don’t hesitate to reach out or simply stop by and say hello. I can’t wait to meet you and your children as we begin this new year of learning and growth.
Here’s to a fantastic 2025–26 school year!
Warmly,
Ashley Ferguson
Principal, Sunrise Elementary
