Dear Sunrise Families,

You've seen Elf on a Shelf, but have you met Principal on a Perch? As we head into the holiday season, I want to take a moment to share how truly thankful I am for the wonderful first part of our school year. It has been such a joy to watch our Sunrise Eagles learn, grow, and shine—both academically and socially-emotionally. Every day, I see curiosity, kindness, resilience, and effort from our students, and it makes me incredibly proud to serve this community.

This past week has been especially meaningful as we’ve enjoyed so many extra special moments together, including holiday spirit days, fun surprises, music, celebrations, and small traditions designed to make this time of year joyful and memorable for our kids. Seeing their excitement, smiles, and sense of belonging has been a highlight for all of us.

Thank you for your partnership, support, and trust. Together, we are helping our children grow not only as learners, but as caring and confident individuals.

I hope you enjoy a restful and joyful break filled with time together, laughter, and special moments. Please take care, travel safely, and enjoy a happy holiday season.

We can’t wait to welcome our Eagles back in 2026, refreshed and ready for another great chapter of learning at Sunrise.

With gratitude,
Ashley Ferguson
Principal, Sunrise Elementary

Our kindergarten, first, and second grade students spread holiday cheer during our annual Holiday Sing-A-Long, joined by wonderful guest performers from Enumclaw High School’s orchestra, band, and choir. We are grateful for community support that helps make experiences like this possible—our district will have the Educational Programs & Operations Levy and the Instructional Technology Levy in the February 10, 2026 Special Election. These are replacement levies, not new taxes, and would continue funding current programs and services, like fine arts; learn more at: https://www.enumclaw.wednet.edu/page/2026-replacement-levies.
