Dear Sunrise Community,

As we head into Thanksgiving, my heart is especially full. I am so thankful for our incredible Sunrise Eagles, for their families, and for the amazing staff who pour so much love and dedication into our school every single day.

It was wonderful seeing so many of you during conferences over the past few days. Conferences are such an important opportunity; a time for families to learn about their child’s growth and a chance for teachers to build deeper connections with the people who know their students best. Thank you for showing up, asking thoughtful questions, and partnering with us to support your child.

I am continually grateful for how hard our teachers and staff work to build strong, meaningful relationships with students. My hope is that every child knows how loved they are and how much they belong here at Sunrise. This is truly their school.

One of my favorite moments this past week was watching students show kindness to one another without hesitation. A student offering a coat to a classmate who forgot theirs, and kids cheering each other on during challenging tasks. These small moments speak loudly about who our Eagles are becoming, and they make me proud every single day.

Sunrise is more than a school to me — it’s home. I am deeply thankful for your partnership and for the privilege of serving this incredible community.

Wishing you a warm, restful, and joy-filled Thanksgiving break.

With gratitude,
Ashley Ferguson
Principal, Sunrise Elementary

November is Native American Heritage Month: a time to honor the enduring and vibrant history of Native peoples in our region and across the nation. Our community values the connection we share with neighboring tribal nations and the land where our students learn and grow. Together, we celebrate a shared commitment to learning and respect.
