Local Resources for Families

The Enumclaw School District recognizes that many families may be facing food insecurity in the coming weeks.  There are many resources available for families, as well as opportunities to donate if you are able to do so:

  • Free breakfast and lunch at Sunrise Elementary
  • Backpack Program:  The Rainier Foothills Wellness Foundation delivers bags of food for students to take home on Fridays from school.  To enroll your student in this program, please contact our counselor Monica Munger.
  • Full Bellies Program:  Also offered by The Rainier Foothills Wellness Foundaton, this community meal is provided for free on Thursdays from 5:30-6:30 at The Foundation office, located at 1304 Griffin Ave.
  • Plateau Outreach Ministries Food Bank:  Anyone experiencing food insecurity can visit the foodbank weekly.  The POM Food Bank is located at 1720 1/2 Wells Street, and is open from 12:00-3:00 on Mondays, and from 9:00-12:00 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays

If you are able to help by donating items to the POM Food Bank, please see the list below for their current list of needs.  Items can be dropped off at the District Office, directly to the food bank, or to Sunrise Elementary and we can help deliver for you.

If you know of a family in need who could benefit from this program, they can regsiter directly with Holiday Helping Hands. Registered families will be invited to their "Giving Day" at the Enumclaw Expo Center on December 19th or 20th.  Each child will receive a gift, a book, a craft or puzzle and stocking stuffers.  All families will receive a board game, gift wrapping supplies and can sign up for a holiday food basket from Plateau Outreach Ministries.

November is Native American Heritage Month: a time to honor the enduring and vibrant history of Native peoples in our region and across the nation. Our community values the connection we share with neighboring tribal nations and the land where our students learn and grow. Together, we celebrate a shared commitment to learning and respect.
