Dear Enumclaw School District Community,

A Message of Gratitude to Our Certificated Staff

With deep appreciation, I want to thank our Certificated School Employees for the extraordinary work you do on behalf of our students. Your commitment, passion, and care are at the heart of every classroom and campus across our district.

Each day, you inspire, support, and guide the young people who will become tomorrow’s leaders and changemakers. From the elementary teacher staying late to design hands-on science lessons, to the high school counselor walking students through college applications, to the music educator preparing students for performances that build confidence—you model excellence in every way.

You create lessons that spark curiosity, foster a sense of belonging in your classrooms, and build strong relationships with students and families. You coach, advise, lead, and advocate, always going the extra mile. The impact of your work is seen not only in test scores and diplomas, but in the resilience, creativity, and compassion our students carry into the world.

To our teachers, counselors, specialists, and all certificated professionals—you do more than educate. You inspire. You transform. Your dedication lifts this entire community, and for that, I offer my deepest thanks.

With sincere gratitude,

Shaun

Asian & Pacific American Heritage Month

May is Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month! While initially only federally observed for one week in May, honoring Asian-Pacific American Heritage was expanded to be observed for the entire month of May beginning in 1990. May was designated to commemorate the immigration of the first Japanese to the US on May 7, 1843, as well as the anniversary of the transcontinental railroad's completion on May 10, 1869. A majority of workers who laid tracks for the railroads were Chinese immigrants.* You can visit the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center to learn more: *www.asianpacificheritage.gov
