Dear Enumclaw School District Community,
Enumclaw Schools Foundation
Last evening, the Enumclaw Schools Foundation hosted its annual fundraising dinner in the Commons at Enumclaw High School.
The Enumclaw Schools Foundation is dedicated to providing resources and funding for both school-specific and district-wide projects that enrich student learning experiences throughout the district. This year, the Foundation supported several exciting initiatives, including “Dancing Classrooms” for fifth-grade students at each elementary school, theater experiences for elementary students in partnership with the EHS Drama Department, and the "Books for Babies" program—just to name a few of the enhancements offered across our schools.
The theme for this year’s dinner was “Spring into Action, because Together We Bloom.” This theme was very fitting given the primary message shared with those in attendance. The major focus of the evening was a call for new volunteers to join the Foundation. Many current members are transitioning off the board this year, creating vacancies and a significant need to expand the Foundation’s membership.
If you are interested in learning more about the Foundation’s work and how you can support students and staff through volunteer service in this impactful organization, please contact Foundation President, Bethany Whisler, at her email address - bethany@enumclawschoolsfoundation.org.

May is Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month! While initially only federally observed for one week in May, honoring Asian-Pacific American Heritage was expanded to be observed for the entire month of May beginning in 1990. May was designated to commemorate the immigration of the first Japanese to the US on May 7, 1843, as well as the anniversary of the transcontinental railroad's completion on May 10, 1869. A majority of workers who laid tracks for the railroads were Chinese immigrants.* You can visit the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center to learn more: *www.asianpacificheritage.gov
