Dear Enumclaw School District Community,
Welcoming Our Youngest Learners: Kindergarten Orientation
One of the most exciting times of the year is upon us—kindergarten orientation! Welcoming our newest learners and their families to our school community is something we look forward to with great joy and care.
Orientation is more than just a tour—it’s an opportunity for families to explore their child’s school, walk through classrooms, and begin building a sense of belonging. Families and students have the opportunity to meet the caring principals, teachers, and staff who are eager to walk alongside their child throughout their learning journey.
These sessions are also a chance to learn about classroom routines, school rules, and behavioral expectations, all designed to support a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for every student.
Registration for new kindergarten students opened on February 28, 2025, and we encourage families to register, if they haven’t already done so.
To register and upload your documents, visit our website: https://www.enumclaw.wednet.edu/o/esd/page/online-registration
This is such an important milestone, and we’re honored to be part of it with you. Thank you for trusting us with your child’s first steps into school—we can’t wait to have the Class of 2038 join us in August!
With appreciation,
Shaun
On April 22, 2025, voters in the Enumclaw School District will have the opportunity to vote on a capital levy to fund urgent facility repairs, student health and safety improvements, and critical infrastructure needs.
The proposed list of levy projects includes approximately $1 million for water heater and shut-off valve replacements:
Southwood Elementary: Replace water heaters and building domestic water shut-off valves
The current water heaters were installed in 1997. They have exceeded their lifespan by 15 years. In addition, the current domestic water shut-off valves do not function properly. As a result, any plumbing work requires the water to be shut off for the entire campus, causing a significant disruption to school operations.
Enumclaw Middle School: Replace water heaters
The current water heaters were installed in 1984. The largest tank serving locker rooms holds 1000 gallons. It was originally designed to support regular showering by students and is electric, which operates at a significant cost. Replacements would be designed to meet the current student needs and demands.
Thunder Mountain Middle School: Replace water heaters
The current water heaters were originally installed in 2000. They have exceeded their lifespan by 10 years.

March is Music in Our Schools Month
As families and community members, we often only see the results of student music performances; however, music educators dedicate themselves to working with students through practices and rehearsals, pushing students further. ESD is proud to honor our music, choir, band, and orchestra teachers and the impact they have daily. Learn more about the importance of music in schools at the National Association of Music Education https://nafme.org/
March is Women's History Month
Please join us in celebrating March as Women's History Month. Women play a vital role in shaping our future, making up over 80% of the educators in the Enumclaw School District and making an impact in our community and beyond! Let us take a moment to appreciate the women who continue to inspire, nurture, and empower students every day.
In partnership with the Enumclaw School District, Enumclaw Youth Empowered will once again be offering Guiding Good Choices Sessions.
