Dear Enumclaw School District Community,

Culture of Collaboration

This week, school board members, along with about 20 students and staff, had the privilege of participating in a board work study at Westwood Elementary School. The event showcased the incredible work being done by both students and staff, and the true highlight was the powerful culture of collaboration that makes Westwood a special place for learning and growth.

During the presentations, teachers emphasized the ongoing support they receive through instructional materials, professional development, and collaboration with one another, all of which help them excel in their roles. Students spoke about the caring and compassionate teachers who encourage them to take risks in their learning, fostering critical thinking and building their confidence. The principal highlighted that this nurturing environment wouldn’t be possible without a school community that embraces an “all in” mentality as proud Westwood Cougars.

ESD 5 Commitments

I was honored to share with the school board that this one example represents work being done in all of our schools and our collective dedication to preparing our students to “learn, lead, and impact” the world around them. Thank you for your continued support in making our schools a thriving environment for everyone.
