Dear EMS Families!

A reminder that we have a Non-Student Day coming up on Friday, October 10th. The following Friday, October 17th will be the Picture Make up Day. If your student did not have their school picture taken yet, that will be the day to have their picture taken. For students wanting a retake photo, if a student ordered a package and wants a new photo please have them return the original package to the photographer on retake day. If you ordered a digital download and would like a retake, please show your receipt to the photographer. Orders can be placed online at mydorian.com before picture day and up to 2 days afterwards

We have had an eventful week this week, with Spirit Week, Penny Wars and a Spirit Assembly. Please enjoy the photos below of our students and staff participating in these school events.

As a reminder of our Spirit Days, Monday was Comfy Cozy Day; Tuesday was Dress Like your Dream Job; Wednesday was Boots and Buckles; Thursday Battle of the Bands and Friday Class Colors (6th=White, 7th = Red and 8th = Black

Penny Wars

Penny Wars Results Are In!
What a week it was a close (and sometimes chaotic!) battle, but here’s how it all shook out:

πŸ₯‡ 1st Place – 6th Grade: $87.84 (positive!)
πŸ₯ˆ 2nd Place – 8th Grade: $38.10 (still holding on in the green)
πŸ₯‰ 3rd Place – 7th Grade: -$19.17 (tough break!)

Because of their strong lead, the 6th graders have officially earned a DONUT PARTY during Wolf Den next week date, to be announced soon.

A huge thank you to everyone who donated, sabotaged, and cheered on your grade. Together, you helped raise $467.67 for PTSO to support our school. What an awesome start to the year and our very first fundraiser!

Rising Up Student Coaches

Tuesday marked the first day of our new 6th Grade Mentorship program. Student "coaches" in 7th and 8th grade are facilitating activities and discussions with 6th grade Wolf Den classes throughout the school year. The goals of the program are to help 6th grade students to feel connected to the EMS community and for 7th and 8th grade coaches to take ownership in being a positive example in navigating middle school life.
