A Note from The Principal:

We are in our last quarter for the 2024-2025 School Year. It is hard to believe how fast the school year has gone by. Before you know it, we will be in the middle of state testing (listed in Upcoming Events below), followed quickly by 8th Grade Interviews, 8th Grade Celebration and the 8th Grade Dance. It has been tradition for parents of 8th graders to organize the 8th grade dance. If you would like to help, please contact the school and let us know you can help.

We will also have our Field Day on June 16th and finally our last early release day of the year on June 17th, the last day of school.

Today you can expect to see your student's grades on Family Access. We will not be mailing home report cards, as you will have access to all the information through Family Access.

Welcome to Spring Break. We will see you back at school on Monday, April 21st.

Mrs. Richter

EMS Timberwolves achieve league champ three-peat!

(From the Courier-Herald)

The Enumclaw Middle School boys basketball team earned a Plateau League championship by finishing their season with a perfect 10-0 record. Even more impressive, this marked the third year in a row the Timberwolves finished as undefeated league champs. The EMS team is a combined group of sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade students.

“Coach Patterson and I have had great talent and amazing young men come through our program these last few years,” head coach Sam White said in an emailed report. “Their work ethic and high expectations is what has separated them from their competition.”

The accompanying photo was taken following the team’s final game of the season. Pictured, from left, are: Brice Dunham, Jack Connelly, Anderson Blair, Luke Cheney, Levi Hanson, Hunter Gura, head coach Sam White, Zelalem Poulin, Jack Wasson, Kortland Patterson, Liam Harding, Ryan McKee-Price, Logan Johnson and assistant coach Jason Patterson.

LYAC Logo

The Lieutenant Governor's Office is reaching out with an opportunity for students at our school. Applications for the 2025–2027 Legislative Youth Advisory Council (LYAC) cohort are now open.

LYAC is a student-led organization that empowers young people (ages 14–18) to engage directly in policymaking, meet with legislators, and advocate for issues affecting youth across the state.

Students must be 14–18 years old as of August 31, 2025, and in grades 7–10 at the time of application.

The program is completely free, and applications close on April 30, 2025, at 11:59 PM PT. More details can be found at https://walyac.org/apply.

LYAC has also published a youth survey to gather information about the legislative priorities of students from across Washington: https://forms.gle/KQH7tjGT2VnTFLU39.

This survey allows the council to better plan out its legislative agenda based on student feedback.

The Lieutenant Governor's Office would love for students to apply!

ESD Critical Maintenance Levy Header

On April 22, voters in the Enumclaw School District will have the opportunity to consider a proposed $12 million capital levy. After almost a full year of research and meetings, the Facilities Oversight for Capital Utilization and Sustainability (FOCUS) Committee (comprised of 21 volunteer community members) presented its findings and recommendations to address pressing facility needs to the Enumclaw School District Board of Directors. As a result of their recommendation for a capital levy to address critical maintenance and secure building access as soon as possible, the Board of Directors approved a resolution to place this measure on the ballot to address critical maintenance needs across the district.

If approved, this levy will provide $3 million per year over four years (2026–2029) to fund urgent facility repairs, student health and safety improvements, and critical infrastructure needs such as roof replacements, HVAC systems, fire panels, and electronic access controls. A complete list of the proposed projects, tax impact details, and additional information and resources are available on our
district website.
