A Message From the Principal

Hi Kibler Families,

Thank you so much to all of our volunteers who helped make today special. We are truly grateful for the time, care, and energy you shared with our students. While not everyone is able to volunteer, please know how much a difference that support makes, and how much our staff appreciates it.

Our hearts are also with the families who have been impacted by the recent rain and flooding. We are thinking of you and hope you are staying safe.

As we head into the break, thank you for continuing healthy routines at home. Enjoy time together as a family — playing cards or board games, watching movies, getting outside, or simply slowing down. Those moments matter and create great memories. Reading each day, staying active, and eating and drinking well all help set kids up for success.

We look forward to welcoming our students back safe and sound. Wishing you a joyful break.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year,
Travis

Kibler Connections with Ms. Cunningham

Building strong bridges between home and school

💙 Practicing Empathy at Home and School

In December, Kibler students are focusing on empathy—the ability to understand how someone else is feeling and respond with kindness. Empathy helps children build strong friendships, solve conflicts, and contribute to a caring school community. It’s a skill that grows through everyday practice, both at home and in the classroom.

Here are a few simple ways families can help children develop empathy at home:

Talk about feelings: Ask your child how characters in books or movies might be feeling and why. These small conversations help kids learn to see situations from different perspectives.

Model compassionate responses: Let your child hear you say things like, “It looks like she had a hard day. How can we help?”

Practice pausing: When conflicts arise, encourage your child to pause and consider how the other person might be feeling before reacting.

Celebrate empathetic moments: When you see your child showing understanding or offering help, point it out—“That was thoughtful. You noticed he needed a friend.”

By nurturing empathy, we help students create a more inclusive, supportive school environment—and strengthen these skills at home, too.

Replacement Levies 2026

Remember to Vote February 10th!

Local levies fund the gap for student services, programs, and operations not fully funded by state and federal funding.

The current Educational Programs & Operations (EP&O) Levy (approved by voters in 2022) and our current Instructional Technology (Tech) Levy (approved by voters in 2020) will both expire in 2026. The school district is asking our community to consider renewing the two levies on February 10, 2026. If approved by voters, these levies will sustain funding for current services and programs.
